California now requires an ID and background check to buy bullets - but - No ID or check for voting?

I have extended family in Cali who describe it as a socialist police state. Many moved away from there as I did back in the early 80s. Some years ago I had to visit some one there and I was blown away how the people accept their loss of freedom. I you have a long blade kitchen knife or hunting knife in your car they can charge you with possession of a deadly weapon. God help you if you have any gun on you or in your car esp handguns. Even if you are legal to own them and they are unloaded they will detain you while they run a background check on you. Crime is rampant, gangs all over the place and many fear the cops more than the criminals. Cali give more aid to illegals than US citizens. They have a 3 strike law where 3 felonies gets you life in prison even non violent felonies such as bad checks. If you see a psychiatrist for any reason they take your guns away via court ordered search warrant. All the major cities have cameras all over the place watching the public.

Any way this new law does not surprise me they want to disarm the public and they want all the illegals votes to count. Its turning into a arm of Latin America and the illegals and gangs love it. If your an illegal you go to prison for a crime and then deported, over and over as you sneak back in. They are going down the road that Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin would love.

Look, we've all heard of "tough love" and "if someone wants to destroy themselves or make mistakes all the time, you can't stop them. You have to let them fail."

I bailed out in early 2018. Tons of people are leaving. Their tax base is leaving. So who will pay off the State bonds California sold/sells?

Watch their Moody's bond rating decay and you'll know that's when they're in trouble.

Illinois is even worse. Their state bonds are just one notch above "junk" because the ratings agencies know that their tax base has eroded and continues to erode, and there is a very high default risk on Illinois state govt. bonds.

California is dangerous and needs banning.

The only gun control policy that they've made which has been successful was making everyone to poor to afford guns or ammo.

The only state I know a parent can get a $1000 fine for their child digging sand castles on the beach.
