What is more frightening: there was nothing before life or there will be nothing after?

Update:

I used the adjective 'frightening', someone else might prefer disappointing or even 'interesting', or any other in its place.

I mean by 'life' the life as we know it, the physical reality of our existence

    I know that there is something before and after life on the physical plane.

    Were you frightened before you existed? I wasn't. I happen to believe in life after death but if there isn't, its not like we'll know.
