Should I talk to a consumer law attorney about this?
Sprint sent my account to collections in January. My credit score was hurt and it shows the balance on my credit report. Today, Sprint took the same amount out of my bank account, sending my account into the negative. So, they've charged me twice.

You were not charged twice. The money they collected will show the bill paid in full assuming they collected all of it. An attorney is just going to charge you for what you could do yourself but I doubt anything will need to be done.

First, you have not been charged twice for the same amount - only Sprint has collected thus far. You need to get Sprint to rescind the collections account, move it back in house and zero out your balance (note, the account will still be marked past due if Sprint reports it to the credit bureaus). If in the paperwork you signed you signed a contract guaranteeing payment through direct withdrawal, you probably have no leg to stand on since they only took an amount they were entitled to per your agreement.
Seeking out an attorney right now will probably only cost you money (attorney and court costs) sine you can only collect costs to sue if you win.

If it would make you feel better. They had a right to collect what was owed. If they mistakenly took it twice, why can't you call them and resolve it yourself?

Sounds like they were within their rights in continuing to try to draw money out of your account since you still owed them. I suspect you signed an agreement initially permitting Sprint to directly draw from your bank account.
I don't give the phone company any information on my bank accounts. They bill me each month and I send them a check.
