What effect does this design feature of the F-35 have on its agility?

Question

The photo shows a comparison between the location of the engines of an F-35 and F-16, in relation to the rear control surfaces. This means that the center of thrust is well forward of the elevators and horizontal stabilizers. Other than the F-22 which has a similar design, I personally don't know of any other aircraft that uses that type of design. What effect does this feature have on the F-35s maneuverability?

See also Mig-29, F-15, F-18, MiG-21... It isn't so much where the thrust is, it is where the center of gravity is. You could also apply this same design principle to those fighters that use canards instead of tail planes (delta wing models).
