What are good vegan bread options?
I'm thinking of starting a vegan diet next week and my plan for lunches is to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches but when talking to my cousin about a vegan diet since he's done it before he informed me that many breads contain milk or egg products, which I was not aware of. It seems that Arnold has a few varieties of vegan bread but I was wondering if anyone knew of any other options I can consider.

sure, make your own. Its relatively easy and you will love home made bread.
At its basic, bread IS vegan because all it has in it is flour, salt, yeast and water. Like everything though, there are different recipes that contain other ingredients.

Ordinary bread is vegan. You'd have to go out of your way to get bread that wasn't - eggs, milk and honey are not standard ingredients.

most bread is vegan. milk, butter, and/or eggs are usually only in fancier breads. you could also make sandwich bread yourself

Most of the "sandwich style" breads are vegan. Its only when you get into some of the special types of bread that you might find milk, egg, and/or butter. Best bet is to pick out some bread at the supermarket and just read the ingredients. It takes just a few seconds and chances are you can have your first choice.
Vegan or not you want to choose a bread made from Whole Wheat. A lot of breads say whole wheat in big letters. A bread can be just 51% whole wheat and labeled whole wheat. That's Ok but 100% whole wheat is better. Some breads list the number of grams of whole wheat per ounce. There are 32 grams in an ounce so you should choose bread that has a number in the high 20s or more. The other thing you can look for is things like protein and fiber. Breads with higher numbers are better.
My favorite Bread Company is Ezekials. You can order it online. A lot of grocers keep it frozen. So look for it in the freezer aisle. Dave's Killer bread is also really good. But there are a lot of good breads - so you should have at least a few good choices.
