Which is the better Garmin? Forerunner 35 or the vívosport?

I've had a Garmin 305 for running since before Obama was elected (the first time). But when I upgraded my MacBook to High Sierra, I could no longer sync my 305. I posted to a Garmin question board and got an email back. Garmin apologized but either couldn't or wouldn't fix the issue (which technically wasn't their fault). Anyway, they offered me a 20% discount off a present watch.

I'm looking at the 35 vs the Viivosport. Which are exactly the same price. The 35 is better for running which is primarily what I would use it for. The Vivo is better at everything else. I've never had an activity tracker and they do intrigue me. But I have never felt the need for one. I really like having a running watch. I like being able to leave my iPhone at home and just run with a GPS/HR watch and my iPod Nano for music. The 35 has some running functions that the Vivo doesn't have - like better intervals programming.

I do go to the gym and workout too. and maybe it would be cool to use some of the Vivo's functions there.
