Wouldn't eating pure sugar be less harmful to teeth because it would readily dissolve away?
Since saliva is the first step in digestion, wouldn't eating pure sugar be less harmful to teeth since it would quickly dissolve away and not stick to teeth as much as bread or potato chips would?

Sugar doesn't dissolve enamel. It's bacteria in plaque that does. Sugar feeds plaque. So, no, eating pure sugar isn't less harmful to teeth. That's why little kids who drink Kool-Aid from a bottle often have their front baby teeth rot out.

So you will be diabetic...but, hey, you'll have nicer teeth.
