How much vegetables do you need per day?

I made a smoothie with some Spinach Lettuce, Romaine Lettuce, Brussels Sprouts, Basel, and also with some orange juice. How much do you need to per day :)

    Depends. Lettuce doesn't really count for much. Spinach is the best. Brussels sprouts and basil are nice.

    If you wanted to get most of what you need from spinach then you would need 1-2 lbs. a day: https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/show/3167?n1=%7...

    But there are other food groups too so if you eat lots of whole grains, sprouted hummus, sprouted pumpkin seeds, a little whole eggs, a little seafood, a little fruit, and a handful of sunflower seeds/almonds then you could get by with less veggies. Maybe 1/4 lb. of veggies if they're good ones.

    But it seems like you're trying to get it all from the smoothie, which isn't going to work. You still have to eat healthy overall and lots of many different healthy things, not just veggies. If you try to do it all with a veggie smoothie then that is going to be one insane bitter tasting quart sized smoothie. It can still help though, and you can reduce the bitterness with calcium from milk or calcium powder. Even then you'll want 1/4-1/2 lb. spinach and/or even more of other veggies.

    3-5 servings. With what you made, that doesn't really count for much. For vegetables- AND fruits (2-4 servings per day) - a serving is 1/2 a cup....and they have to be varied. If you put them on a plate before you puree them, it should be multi-colored. 4 green things plus orange juice isn't enough.
