Front end shake at 82 mph.?
May of had this problem for some time as speed limit is 65. All is smooth no tire wear. One time not paying attention. went up to 82 mph. All is smooth up to there in steering. No shake at all. Just over 82 mpr front end starts to shake. Tried 2 more times It happens right at 82 mpr. Front end seems ok. No tire wear found. Just starts to shake at 82.

The tires are balanced for 65 mph and are slightly out of balance at 82 mph. If it bothers you go to a tire shop and have the tires road force balanced.

Could be a number of things. My old civic DX would shake at 100 miles an hour, but my Si was better built for speed. Warped rotors Can cause shaking at high-speed, Alignment, etc.

Tire balance is not perfect, plain and simple. Tire & repair shops never, ever calibrate their machine. I have to tell my guys all the time a come back isn't worth the 2 minutes it takes to do it once every few days but they always let it go.

It's a type of harmonic resonance that all cars have, each with a different speed. You should find the shaking will disappear after you go past 82. My old Ford Escort mark 2 used to do it at 65.

Add in possibly tyre out of round slightly or not quite enough toe in. As speed increases in a worn vehicle the toe tends to reduce under increased road loads causing steering problems.
Get it checked & corrected as not only risking an accident but damaging the car as well

At this speed it could be a variety of things. Balance and alignment would have to be perfect. If any of the tires are out of round, all front end connections and linkages tight. These are the basics.

Wheel balance out, worn dampers, warped wheel. Any of these could do this.
BTW, where can you drive at 82 legally?

Wheel balance is out. Take you car to a tyre replacement com[any and ask them to check the balance and the tracking. Balance is achieved when tyres are related using small lead weight normally stuck on these days but they can fall off.

front end problem, tire out of balance, bad tire... find tire shop to look at it

His so tires may not be worn but wheels do need to be dynamically balanced other wise this does occur.
