When a girl ask your age does it mean she likes you?

I went to the park the other day to play basketball and these two girls i don't know come up to me and ask how old i am. Then they continued to talk to me about other things and when i returned home I told my mom and she said that the only time a girl asks a guy how old he is. Is when they are interested in them. I told her no that I think they were just curious on how old I was and i really don't think they like me. So I am asking this question to see who is right me or my mom?

    It doesn't conclude anything. I ask everybody's age because I want to see exactly how much I can relate to them.
