How easy is it to drive a car after 5 years of no driving?
I mean the actual mechanics of driving, not insurance etc. I know insurance will be costly as I lost my no claims. I was considering booking some lessons to help me get back into it but I dont know how necessary that is.

Easy as in driving, or getting insurance etc. I think driving is a bit like riding a bike - you tend not to forget although after 5 years it might be worth considering taking a one-off lesson as a 'brush up'. I wasn't driving for a year after I had a really bad back probem. But then my husband had a stroke so I had to get back behind the wheel. I had no problems either with remembering how to .... or insurance.

Hard and easy
Cant you see that hard, like easy, is a subjective description of how a person finds something to be for themselves. There are of course all degrees between hard and easy too.
Just because one person finds something to be either easy or hard or anywhere between it will have no bearing on how you will find this to be for yourself

I didn't drive between 2005 & 2012 and had no problems whatsoever. Felt good too.

You do not say how experienced you were before you stopped? I would find the cheapest and book an hour and see how you feel after that

It is much like riding a bicycle. One never forgets
However......"Easy" is a relative term.
