Can the graphics chip in a HP Elitebook 8460p be upgraded?

Hi,

I have an HP Elitebook 8460p (second hand), with AMD Radeon 7460m graphics chip.

I have been looking around for around a week to see if the chip could be upgraded to a faster one or tone that can handle any workload as this one is totally pants.

If it could be upgraded, what could it be upgraded to (relative power and heat) and if not an explanation.

Because the back is so easy to take off I exposed the GPU and it is held on with red glue?

Can this not be taken off or is this red solder?

    Not upgradeable.

    Not via USB at present. It's too slow. There are ways to connect a desktop GPU to laptop, but they aren't cheap, elegant or simple.

    You cannot upgrade GPU chips on laptops since they're soldered directly onto the motherboard.

    You can not. Laptop and Notebook video cards are part of the motherboard and can not be changed.
