Shedding Brush For Shih Tzu & Yorkie?

I know some people say that they don't shed at all but they do shed, is't it? tThey shed like humans do, little a day I knew this by reading other answers of yahoo where some say they don't shed at all and some say they shed a little rather then a lot twice a year.

I want to know that can I use shedding comb for them? Do these shedding comb also prevent mattings in dogs? I have a Shih Tzu and Yorkie and I want to know that can I use shedding brush for them to work out any mats or tangle they have? Or at least can I use it for Shih Tzu?

If you use a pin brush daily and go through their coats, or if they are super active or have long hair a quick brushing through twice a day prevents forien objects getting stuck in their coats (bugs, sticks, food objects, grass etc). If their coats are kept up with a quick 2 minute brushing through or less it makes it super easy to care for the dogs, you can spot any problems starting such as hair loss - helps check for problems etc From any lumps, bumps, cuts on them.

The other bonuses of daily brushing through is it keeps their coats from matting and super tangling besides the dogs learning to love it, giving a closer human / dog relationship of trust and love.

You are correct about the shedding thing, there is no such thing as a mammal thst does not shed, even Dolphins shed skin cells like people and dogs. Dogs shed fur and hair just like people do. It's just that some dogs have a different hair style and are considered no shedding snimsls such as poodles. Bischeons, Portuguese water dogs to mention a few, they don't have the typical fur with a soft downy undercoat which is what most canine breeds have. But just like humans the shed less dogs thst have s hair style cost have hair breakage plus hairs that die off just like we do when we comb our hair... Ever notice how many hairs end up in the comb or brush in the morning? Our hairs also shed out and break but most people don't consider themselves as shedding.

You could buy a specialty shedding comb and use thst if you want or a good solid grooming brush would help. There are also some dog safe leave in conditioners thst will help repel dirt off the dogs coats besides having the advantage of helping the hair not tangle up between brushings.

Dogs that are kept up on a daily basis, their coats kept relatively clean, and they get the exerceise they need and a good diet end up with a good glossy shiny even coat. When you take the dog into the groomers you will have the advantage of a well behaved pair of dogs that like to be brushed out, making the groomers job easier and they sometimes will charge you less just because of the dogs super good behavior of not barking hysterically, pulling, darting and nipping at everything around

A soft, long pin slicker brush is a good one for a Yorkshire terrier. No brush can prevent mats if it isn't used but daily brushing can remove tiny tangles before they get to be big mats. A good anti-static spray can help, too. I'd suggest shopping online because none of my local pet stores have these things.
