which one is the best geared cycle?
i want to purchase a bicycle for my son. i need a cycle with gears. can you help me? My requirements are - Bicycle for my son 13 years old. (Which can be used by me also) Need Gears. Budget upto 15000. please suggest the best brand and model. what are the specifications to look for. what are the additional fittings required. is disk brake is useful?

I am going to assume that you are in India. If that is the case you will not be able to buy a quality bicycle in your price range. Is your son the same height as you? If not, someone is going to be riding a bike that is the wrong size. There are very many different types of bicycles that have gears, first you have to decide what sort of riding you will do and then select a bike that is designed for riding in those conditions. Visit a few bike shops and ask the sales staff what sort of bike you should buy

It doesn't quite work that way. Bikes are NOT one size fits all. Your first stop should be to a local bike shop and discuss it with a bike shop employee. That will go,a long way to giving you the basics.
Basic 1) one size does not fit all 2) you buy a bike for where and how you will ride.

What currency?
Not that it matters really, as JohnM points out, it's unlikely that the same bike would fit both an adult and a 13-year old.
