Should I Bath My Puppy Once A Week?

That is WAY too often. Pro Groomers even recommend that dogs shouldn't be bathed more often than every six weeks. We have a small Poodle mix that gets bathed approx. every three months, but that's only because that's how often he goes to a Groomer to get clipped. Our Doberman only gets a bath twice yearly.

Unless dogs get unduly messy, roll in something and so on, none of this constant bathing should be necessary. A daily grooming should be more than enough, even with a coated breed. Fact is my Whippet (okay short coat) has only been in the bath a couple of times and she's now 7+. She gets a good daily brush out and her coat gleams. My Basset is done more often, but even he doesn't get a regular bathing - just when he gets 'niffy (as Bassets can) or rolls in something.

Unless a dog rolls in something, or gets into mud. It only needs bathed about every three months.

Daily brushing will remove and loose dirt and freshen skin.

Bathing a long haired dog to often can and will cause skin infections.

If you bathe a dog more than once every six weeks it will cause injured skin response and a bad odor as well as possibly serious, painful skin conditions. Once a week is the same as pouring poison on your dog.

That's too often. It could cause dry skin and itchiness. I only bathe my dog if he smells or gets into something.
