How Can I Make My Dog Sleep All Through Night?

In my previous question I asked if should i use dog crate or bed and decided on crate. But the problem is my Yorkie sleeps only for 3-4 hours then wakes up and cry I take her out for potty break but then she wants to play. I could not sleep because of her. I don't mind taking her for potty break at night but she wants to play for an hour then she wants food and play again. It seem like she does't know the difference between day and night and just wants to play. I'am only able to sleep for 4 hours because of her., Is there a way I can make her tired so she sleeps soundly at night. I can take her for midnight walk but what other things can I do?

Once you get her into a routine, this should get better. If she goes into her crate at around 11 pm, you will need to get up by around 3 am (try to anticipate her waking and crying for you so she doesn't get the idea this will happen if she cries!). That should mean you get up by 7 am to take her out and feed. There WILL be loss of sleep with a new puppy until she gets into a routine. When you take her out at night, make sure yo don't play with her at all - back to her crate, good girl, biscuit/treat, get back into bed yourself and shut off the light. What she wants may well be what you are seeing, but this is about what YOU want!! If necessary, you'll have to insist she SHUTS UP once back in her bed. Provided you know she doesn't need to empty, you have to do your best to ignore these 'wants'.

As long as you have the crate alongside your bed, for now at least, she should learn to accept your routine.
