Anime suggestions for someone who has lost faith in anime?
I've found a few anime I've liked, but I've lost faith in the genre. It's rampant with overused tropes, filler episodes, and unnecessary sexual embellishments. Can anyone suggest to me anime which rises above the garbage? I mean good plot, complex character development, sexual stuff makes sense in the context and isn't just a desperate ploy to keep people watching?
Here are a few I've liked:
Fate/Zero
Berserker
Attack on Titan
Knights of Sidonia
Mushishi
Samurai Champloo
Tokyo Ghoul
Thanks for reading

A few suggestions:
One-Punch Man: Beyond excellent animation quality. Lacking in character development, but quite humorous and certainly rated by many communities as the top series of this past season,
Magica Madoka: Takes the overused trope of "magical girl" and turns it into something downright depressing. Again, a series most would consider the top of its season. Great music and animation; a must see.
Shimoneta: Ok, so bear with me on this one. It's one long unnecessary sexual embellishment. It's set in a Tokyo in which anything perverse was made absolutely illegal. Teenagers exist in a generation where they quite literally don't even know that sex exist, and so they're absolutely straight face about it as perverse anime type tropes happen around them. I don't think I could describe this in a way that didn't make it sound like I was trying to troll you by giving it as an answer.
Tiger and Bunny: An alternate world where superheroes exist, but they're limited to a single power. Also because being a hero is expensive (costumes, insurance, property damage, etc.) they all have corporate sponsors to answer to. Deals with two forcefully teamed up heroes, with one of them gradually losing his abilities. Drags a bit towards the middle, but excellent animation and character developments. One of those series you tend to hope eventually gets a second season.
Full-Metal Alchemist: I think it's law that this (and Brotherhood) always be listed when answering these questions. I also think it's law that if you like anime you have to have watched it. Sorry bro, I don't break the law.
Parasyte The Maxim: Emotionless parasitic things invade people's bodies, taking them over. One guy accidentally gets one in his hand, forming a a symbiotic bond since the parasites are emotionless and act only rationally (aka. it'll help him because if he dies it dies). Good character growth here, but at times a bit slow.
Is This a Zombie: A guy becomes a zombie who has the powers of a magical girl. At one point he fights a flying, thuggish blue whale. His weapon is a chain saw and as a magical girl he becomes "cuter" as he becomes stronger. He's backed up by a silent necromancer, an ex-magical girl, a vampire ninja, a rival vampire ninja, and another vampire ninja because... wtf, you can never have too many of hose. Better than it sounds.
Those are a few to get you started. Hopefully a couple you like, but all excellent series that really stood out in the seasons their premiered.
