How safe is AirAsia these days?
I am flying from Singapore to KL and am a bit worried since one of their planes crashed. I know they had a terrible safety record before but has anything changed since the crash?

Well, it's already Wednesday, and they haven't killed anybody so far this week.

Still a safe airline to fly with. Also Singapore to KL is only a 40 minute flight. I flew this route with Singapore Airlines before. AirAsia is a very popular airline in Asia and my wife's family flies with them all the time. I have no issues getting on one of their planes. Also 1 crash does not make an airline have a terrible safety record.

YOU HEARD about a crash REALLY you did? WHEN? How many died? WHERE did it happen? WHY did it crash? WHO told you?
Do you mean the incident over one year ago. Did you check how many flights landed without incident since then.
The air crash became the second-deadliest in Indonesian territory, in 1997 and the ONLY fatal crash of AirAsia's group in EIGHTEEN YEARS of flight operations.
Awards and recognition
The 2012 World Airline Awards at the Farnborough Airshow ranked the airline as the world's best low-cost airline

AirAsia A320 near Kolkata on Jun 9th 2013, engine shut down in flight
AK-1242 from Kolkata (India) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) with 144 passengers, was climbing out of Kolkata when the crew needed to shut down an engine (CFM56) and returned to Kolkata for a safe landing about one hour after departure.
Stay home you could trip on the curb getting into the Airport or hit by a car in the Parking lot. Much more dangerous than the flight.
They recently purchased $18,000,000,000 worth of planes do you think they plan on wanting them to crash on a regular basis?

They are a safe airline, though I fly Singapore Airlines mainly in that neck of the woods.
