How is Morse code used in Chinese?
Great answers! But Chinese children won't be able to learn Morse code and tap out messages: the Chinese equivalent needs too much memorisation. And Chinese radio amateurs presumably never had to pass a Morse test to get their licences. I can see that the four-digit system can be used for, but if it is done at any kind of speed it would have to be computerised. I don't see any human sending or receiving Chinese telegraph messages the way we send and receive Morse. Interesting!

I have watched a Mainland drama/film with the main characters being the code breakers in People's Liberation Army. The man overhears a code in the radio transmitter and asks his girlfriend what the code is while tapping in her palm, the girl answers (flashbacks for a code-for-each-character list).
Well, of course it works differently from other phonetic languages since we use characters instead of alphabets. But we do have strokes for characters (see strokes of Chinese characters in Wiki), we just break down the radical and the phonetic components.
For example (JUST AN EXAMPLE, not many people know how to use it/bother using it), the character "仁". There's the component of 亻(radical) and 二 (phonetic component). The two components requires two strokes to write, so maybe we tap "··---" for 亻. Then the code breaker searches for radicals that use two strokes. Then tap ""··---"" again, and the code breakers searches for phonetic components of two strokes. This limits the possibilities and soon the code is broken.
Question: But there may be some characters having same strokes?
Answer: Yes, there're also words in English that looks the same but with different meaning (eg. bright, like), you have to code-break the whole message then.
