Help my kitten has fleas and stinks?

I just got a new kitten. She is 7 weeks old. When I first got her the person I bought her from said she had no fleas but one of her litter mates did so she said to keep an eye on her. So I have been and I've noticed a couple little black dots on her almost like pepper. This I've come to know is flea dust. Now I have seen flea dust but I have yet to see a flea and I've looked her over for hours but they have to be there is the fleas are popping on her. I'm going to buy frontline plus for her next week when she turns 8 weeks. I just wanted to know if I would give her a full dose or not since she's so tiny? Another thing about my kitten is that she is VERY stinky. She farts all the time and it reaks. I wanted to know what that's all about too. She will be going to the vet close to thanksgiving. Will she live until then or are these problems too serious??

DO NOT use any flea products on a kitten unless the label says it is safe. I am not familair with frontline, so I don't know what age it is safe for, but most flea products recommend that the cat be at least 12 weeks old before using the product on a kitten. You can bath the kitten in Dawn dish liquid to help remove some of the fleas and the flea dust. Be sure to rinse the soap out completely and gently towel the kitten dry. A fine toothed comb can also help remove some of the fleas until the kitten is old enough for stronger treatments.

Now, as for stinky farts, what are you feeding the kitten. DO NOT give the kitten cows milk. Cats do love milk, but they are actually lactose intolerant and giving them milk is a great way to give them gas and diarrhea. The best thing for kittens is a kitten formula cat food. And water is the only drink they need. Their diet should consist of hard cat food and soft cat food. If you feed only hard food, they can become constipated but if you feed only soft food, they can have diarrhea and smelly farts from that too.

You kitten should be fine until her vet visit. What you are describing doesn't sound too serious.

One last thing, if one kitten in the litter has fleas, then all the kittens have them. It is impossible to have only one kitten in a litter affected by fleas and not have fleas on all of them. The person who gave you the kitten was just saying whatever it would take to get the kitten a home.
