What is your favorite Final Fantasy game?

Tie between Final Fantasy IX and XII

IX is a very emotional game with some deep characters and a very well written story

XII has a LOT of gameplay/side quests - I've probably invested the most time into it of any FF game, and its story/characters are more subdued or otherwise subtle, though it has a certain art to it and is likely the most grounded in reality when it comes to themes. A shame the story is so underappreciated due to an admittedly slow beginning

6 was the first one I played, and I still consider it the best in many ways.

7 was very good but not quite as good as 6. For one thing the story is pretty obtuse in places.

After that, comes X, then 9, then XIII and way, way, down the line, 8.

I haven't played the 4, 5 or XII yet. XI and XIV aren't "real" Final Fantasy games if you ask me.

VI is my fav, followed by IX and VII. Played all up to XIII-2, only ones I *really* can't stand are VIII and II. Currently playing through IV, and I've beaten I, VI, VII, IX, X, X-2, XIII, and XIII-2.

Why do you think it's acceptable to refuse to think for yourself?
