engine swap 305 to 400 small block?

Question

how much work would be involved in doing an engine swap on a 1992 chevy camaro from its stock 305 to a 400 small block? i know i would have to do a lot of reinforcement in the car itself i was just curious whether or not the work would outweigh the benefit of doing the swap to this bigger engine? and should i go with this 400 or a 383 stroker?

The 400 CI engine weighs less that the 305 CI engine because, both are small blocks and the 400 has cylinders that are siamesed in the block with steam ports drilled between them as well as ports in the head gasket.  Less metal, less weightl  It is the reason racers don't care for them.  You can build a stroker from a 350 with 383 CI and put out almost 435 HP to over 500 HP in the 427 CI strokers.

Go for the 400. It is a direct swap, exactly as easy as swapping in another 305. The bigger bore will help cylinder head flow
