Just checked my credit report and there is a new account in collections and it isn t mine?

Update:

I just checked my report and a new account has been added to collections. The original creditor is 12 SPEEDYCASH COM 96 TX. I googled this and it is an online payday loan company. I have never had a payday loan and I am unsure how to proceed. This account is almost $1,300 and has severely impacted my credit score. How do I dispute this? Is a resolution even likely for an online loan? Any advice is appreciated.

    First you contact the credit bureaus and dispute the collection, they have to by law contact the creditor and the creditor has to prove it is your account

    Second then you contact the creditor and they have to provide you (validate) the information they have on file which will include the date, time as well as a copy of the contract you signed (or whoever signed it)

    Third, if it is proven that it is not your loan and somebody used your information then you call the police and make a police report and you keep on it
