I would be... curious to know what is going on. I mean, it may have been an experiment or something to try it on, who knows? It might even be a dare from one of his friends to put it on. Perhaps he just likes his toenails polished? Anyway, you can confront him about it, I guess. Ask him what's going on. If he's not comfortable explaining, just let it go.
