2097 Saturn Ion power steering not working.?
This afternoon I tried to drive my Saturn, only to find the wheel hard to turn. My husband and I realized it was the power steering (of course). My husband remembered the power steering recall that we neglected to take care of sooner. Oops. Unfortunately, the nearest dealership to repair it (assuming it is related to the recall) is 25-30 miles away. Is there anything we can do to help it to be drivable to the dealership? Currently, I can't even drive it the two miles round trip to the library (much to my daughter's irritation) and to the grocery store. (I'm out of coffee, which is mildly tragic as I'm pregnant, and the only brew can have.)

DO NOT drive the vehicle!
The PSAM (Power Steering Assist Motor) may inadvertently operate and then fail while the vehicle is in motion which may cause the vehicle to crash due to lack of steering ability!

Call the dealership - or even the Saturn cooperation - and tell them that you cannot drive your car due to the recall - and you need them to help you with their situation.
