London or Bristol?

I'm about to do a gap year and I have to chose one of this two beautiful cities to stay and do an business english course. I've been once to london and didn't like it that much. It's very crowded, stressful and expensive. But on the other hand it has so much cultural things to offer and is an international city. I've never been to Bristol but I've heard many great things about it,I'm just a bit scared that it will get boring after 1-2 months, whereas London seems too overwhelming... Where would you recommend me (18) to go and where would you go if you had to chose?

Thanks very much for your time and answer.

London is VERY expensive and is also the least English of all the cities of England. It is cosmopolitan but that can quickly become boring because you just seeing "attractions" and are not really experiencing England. You can get to anywhere else in the UK easily from London because all the road, rail and air services are "London Centred". But fares are high for the same reason. Generally Londoners are friendly and will make foreigners welcome.

Bristol has a very strong history and is currently a very vibrant and exiting city. There is as great a range of arts and culture as there is in London, but there is not as much of it and the theatre and concert tickets are half the price. It is also very much smaller and a Considerably Cheaper place to live. Bristol's locaton makes it easy to get to London as well as Wales, Bath (another stunning city) and the South West of England (an experience in itself). There are also flights to Scotland.

So you should not get bored by living in Bristol unless you are too lazy to get out and experience the England (and Wales) that surrounds the city.

Bristolians are not as used to loads of foreigners as Londoners and may think you are "interesting", but they will make you welcome if are friendly.

London if you want more to do. You'll have to learn to get over the crowdedness, stress and expense. Bristol if you want more peace and quiet.

Go for London. You will quickly get used to the rush and speed of live there. It is the top city in Britain for the arts and culture in general and is also full of quiet green places where you can escape the noise and stress
