because the source of information on which most people base their world view comes through news channels and media. To add to that there is plenty of disinformation that is likely to sway someone peeking superficialliy to dismiss all of it as hoax and ridicule it so as to preserve the intellectual integrity.

We are not living in a culture that encourages open discussion or speculation regarding ufos. Its is considered 'cool' to say all of it is hoax. Simply because we use fuel, and combustion as a means to travel, it is considered unlikely by the closed minds to imagine another species, possibly more advanced enough to travel by other means.

I dont think these people who are unwilling to examine it for themselves, can be reasoned with, They parrot the same ideas over and over again.

Because most people are in denial, don't care or just don't have enough proof to convince them. For me, the possibility that there is no alien life is 0.001%. The people who answered this question trying to call you stupid are f**kin idiotic. We, the human race, are so special, that we're the only intelligent living species in the entire universe, that's what they're thinking.

My guess is also, the government is trying to dissuade people from believing in alien life. Because a lot of people are to pathetic to handle that information. The only way everyone will believe in aliens, is if the government comes out and says it! To me, this is vital information, and I really want to see concrete evidence, but the only evidence you can find is from people who are conspiracy theorists, and f**kin vague videos on the internet with blurred images. Also, in this day and age, people can almost recreate anything digitally, so photos or videos with real footage could be seen as fake.

And btw, UFO means Unidentified Flying Object, meaning, if the military from any country build a plane that's unique and tests it for the first time, and someone caught it on camera, all people will say omg it's an alien life form, but that's not necessarily true.

Do you ever notice how much more advanced the "UFO's" get as the years go by? In the 1950's UFO's were round flying saucers with little detail. Today they're pretty sophisticated in their designs with LOTS of intricate details.

I'm not saying I don't believe in aliens or other outer space species, but I believe 95% of the "sightings" are mistaken identity. I don't believe aliens are THAT interested in our planet...so much so that they would remain hidden after all these centuries. I also don't believe aliens are that sloppy that they'd be mistakenly seen.

I believe if they were THAT interested in our planet, they would have made themselves known publicly by now.
