Legal marijuana?
So, I have questions regarding the legalization of marijuana... First which province in Canada does weed become totally legal and why...
Secondly Is there a network of some sort where people looking to get into the multitudes of business opportunities involving marijuana.
For example, lets say that I own a big piece of land and want to offer it or merge with some who carries the health Ontario legal right to produce, sell, deliver and or cultivate marijuana, but they need land to build a facility or grow it outside... Where would a person go to find these kinds of businesses.
Which aspect of the business would you say will be the most profitable...
The cultivation of.
The production of
Transporting it.
Manufacturing for the medical industry or producing for the public...
Looking forward to hearing the experts opinion on all of this and whatever I missed out on ? Thanks

Marijuana is not illegal in Canada. It is a prescription drug under the Controlled Substances Act. Anyone can get it with a doctor's prescription. It is no more illegal than antibiotics, blood pressure medicines, certain sleeping pills, certain pain medications, etc.
The Controlled Substances Act is a federal law. It applies throughout Canada. Provinces don't have any say in getting it removed from the act. Provinces are likely the main obstacle to the federal government even considering remove it from the act, since that would mean that either the province's would have to regulate it (like alcohol or tobacco) or deal with people selling the drug to ten year-olds. So far the provinces have made it crystal clear that they don't wish to attempt to regulate it. It is just too costly and there is so much illegal production that it is unlikely anyone would volunteer to pay taxes, only grow it in agriculturally regulated areas, submit to inspections, etc.
The federal government isn't going to remove it from the act until the provinces have some system in place in order to regulate it. That likely means never. The current government has looked into decriminalizing simple possession -- those found with under 30g get a ticket and fine (like a speeding ticket) rather than arrest, trial, criminal conviction, and options for jail time. Tickets are easier and more cost effective to give you. Many police chiefs favour this as arrests for minor possession are time consuming, expensive, and rarely result in more than a fine anyway.
You can already buy land and grow medial marijuana. Lots of companies do this. You need to be registered with Health Canada and abide by their guidelines -- same as any company making prescription drugs. In reality, you need millions of dollars to buy the land, setup secured facilities, cameras, labs and testing equipment, inspections, fees, staff to validate quality, staff to verify and fulfill orders, criminal background checks, etc. Pretty much the same as if you wanted to make and sell Viagra.
If you have a valid prescription, you can already order it from various companies. They ship through Canada Post, so there isn't much money in transporting it.
