A pain is either an indication of an injury or something else wrong (a signal that the body is sending as a warning) or, in some cases, it can be a random occurrence that is a kind of mistake that the brain makes. If pain is very severe, if it interferes with normal life, or if it lasts more than a few days (you have to use your judgment as to how many days that means) then common sense says you need to heed the warning and go to the doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment. Of course if pain is accompanied by redness, swelling, fever, or any other alarming symptoms, you should go to the doc or even the ER if severe. It often does no good to use the Internet or ask ordinary people on YA because the speculation could be totally wrong. Altho men are often reluctant to go to a doc, if pain is really disabling, they would do it. Also there are some websites where you can consult a medical professional in real time, though maybe not for free. There may be a free "ask a nurse" site.
