How do I unmark an active partition?

Update:

While I was installing a new hard drive on a computer, it was being uncooperative, so I accidentally marked the empty hard drive as an active partition. Now the computer won't boot up, and will only say "BOOTMGR MISSING".

Update 2:

I would like to know how to fix this from BIOS on an ASUS motherboard because I do not have a Windows 7 disk with me.
