Im 15 and i wear booty shorts every day, but ive seen a bunch of people (mostly online) call them slutty or stuff a whore wears.. Why are they called that?

They're not, people use terms like slutty or whore as a means of controlling women - the implication is that women are only of worth if they are not sexual, thus when people say that X behaviour or wearing certain things is slutty it's about people trying to shame a woman into behaving or dressing differently. The reason people say this about clothing that shows skin is that they think womens bodies are inherently sinful or sexualized.

It's 2015 - NO ONE should be using these sort of terms to attack or control women, if they do then it says more about them then it does about the person they're talking about. Clothes are not slutty, booty shorts cannot have sex nor do they determine if you are sexual - and even if you were, that's not a bad thing.

To keep it simple, most people would assume that a girl who wears less clothing (or rather, just shorter clothing) is attempting to get attention from males. It's just mindless judgement, don't let it get to you. And as for misses gung-ho over here in the comments about "being controlled", she should elaborate on who she means (though I'm sure I know the answer to that already). Don't assume guys are the one's "controlling" women by deeming stuff like this slutty, it's usually other women who give each other crap about how they dress simply for idol gossip, or out of jealousy. This is also coming from a women. Don't let stuff like this make you self-conscious. It really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. People will always idiotically pass judgment on stupid ****.
