Swelled up top of ear after industrial piercing after 2 years?
I had an industrial piercing a couple years ago. After a couple months of getting it the top part of my ear started to swell. I did all the soaks and put ice on it etc but it never went down. I took it out well over a year ago and my ear is still swollen looking. It sometimes hurts . . . .has anyone had this or have any idea what it might be? my doctor has been no help. It doesnt look infected or anything.

Could be a long list of things...improper fitting jewelry, low quality jewelry, it being pierced improperly, irritation if you sleep on it, etc. There's just no way to know. Go have a reputable professional piercer look at it. Doctors don't know about piercings, piercers do.

That part of the ear is skin and cartilage, so if you have
a knot there it is probably just scar tissue and may never go away. There is nothing you can do about it.
