What was your unpleasant experience with airport immigration officers? How did you overcome it?

For travelers by plane, have you ever experienced verbal abuse, racist slighting, hurtful taunting, whatever unpleasant remarks or even arbitrary attitude (violent) while passing through immigration office or passport control at airport mainly or other border points?

How did you cope with the nasty and bad feelings inside you afterwards?

Can you argue or protest, to whom?

Update:

What about retorts like "Yeah, you guys come and never leave the country".

It was nothing too horrible. My family was pulled away and they did a whole bunch of full body checks as well as swabs on our hands and faces (checking for traces of drugs and chemicals apparently). I was asking what the swabs were for, but complying with my hands out, and got the man screaming at me and told that if I don't behave they won't let us fly and will lock us up. He refused to answer and I only found ot later from a woman who came to take us after nothing was wrong.

I don't even know why they chose us. It was me, my mom and dad, and my baby sister (whose hands they swabbed too jeez). They said we can't complain since it's safety, and I wouldn't have minded if people just TOLD me what was going on rather than dabbing stuff on my skin and holding me in place and screaming at me. I was 15 or so at the time.
