Air conditioner support rig?
I just took my window units out and i'm not particularly happy with the screw holes in my recently installed double-hungs (Andersen 200 series). I'm thinking about building a support rig that takes the place of the lower sash - I have my own ideas, but would appreciate any tips or suggestions from anyone who has done this before.

A properly installed window unit is supported by the sash WITHOUT screws. The ONLY thing any widow unit I have ever seen uses screws for is to keep the pieces that block the openings on the sides. I always use duck tape for that.

the installer of those high dollar windows did not do a very good job if you are unhappy with the mounts of the A/C units ... you are looking at what needs to be done and you will do a better job ... just be sure that the A/C's slant to back or outside and the condensation drains well ... you got this ...
