how much CO does charcoal emit to be lethal?

Question

I have a room in my house that I don't use much and I wanna improvise a sauna in it. Planning on lighting charcoal and keep on pouring some water in it to generate steam

But I'm concerned about Carbon monoxide. So say a room that is 4 by 4 meters and 2.5 meters high
How much charcoal on weight will emit enough CO to become lethal?

Sadly I live in a third world country and I looked well and hard for a CO detector and find absolutely none even in the most popular and large hardware and safety stores

No do not do this. Have a gas sauna heater installed in the room instead.

Do not under any circumstance proceed to do what you are contemplating.  This is lethal no matter how well you try to control it.  Never under any circumstance should you have any charcoal burner inside a structure with a roof and 2 or more sides.

It takes much less to render you unconscious than to kill you. But that doesn't matter much, if you do loose consciousness you will still be breathing it in till you die. Just 3 or 4 briquettes is enough to do it, that isn't nearly enough to make steam the way you want to. You evidently have internet access, why not order a detector online?
