What type of fitting is this please?

I've bought a rope swing and it has no instructions. It has this fitting on one rope and a round steel ring on the other? Can anyone my knowledgable than myself advise? Ta

    That (S) shaped hook should turn to open the gap to hook onto the mounting eye. After hooking, rotate back to secure.
