Why does Yahoo not bring back the audience votes.?
By leaving the sole vote of the best answer to the questioner, those questioners just get a confirmation of their own stupidity.
By leaving the sole choice to the asker, this one just seeks to get his own ignorance confirmed what is total nonsense. In a debate there are always 2 poles to create a discussion, the majority and the opposition, and here, an asker's best choice and the audience best choice would give this site more sense and reason to be.
Beside that, many questions ask to get a choice made and the question stays often open without it never happening. The ancient system was definitely better on that level.

the way it is now is absolutely nuts, for example, I was top contributor, but I am not anymore, no reason is given, I do not understand why. Then, there might be categories where you statement is true, but in others it is not. In Religion, in Philiosophy, in educational things or politics,, the actual system does not works and as I state, here some just want their own stupidity confirmed by others. I I want to know if GOD exists for example, I select as best answer simply YES.
That system is absolutely useless and not instructive. Then, it is easy to make a platform in a way that oneself can not vote on it, but removing the voters choice was a fault in every point of view. Also the access to the own parameters, questions, best answers and so on, compared to the green platform is worse now. Often it is impossible to load any picture up, the only positive point is that one has more text to write. But all in all, the purple crap has made YA totally non of interest.

You are at the same point I am. First of all, I can't see if a question found an answer or not, at some moment that platform showed this, no not anymore, and I can not open every question I answered to see if it found an answer, many never got a rating at all. The fact to leave the decision to the sole asker made it boring to play around here and myself am not so much interested anymore when I see that best answers chosen are just confirming the lack of intelligence of the asker.
All in all is important to state one thing, Yahoo has just made what it wanted to do, not listening to what the people want or think, it as broken this platform down in a way that it has just become a piece of crap and the positive to negative effect it has done is at a ration 10/90%. I just wait to see the last 10% to be destroyed, but all in all I do not think that one can destroy more than it is destroyed yet. Sorry Yahzmin, but your platform has become a big messy piece of ****.

You're right -- we used to get more feedback on our answers and I gotta admit, I kind of looked forward to that...this is not as interactive or interesting as it was before. Leave it to Yahoo to 'fix' what isn't broken! I typically find myself squirming through the various re-vamps of the formats with email and other Yahoo things...have even promised myself to wean off of Yahoo and try a different mail service and stuff -- but then I acclimate to the updated formats and move on. Still, I totally agree with you on this one -- the "Answers" changes have not had me participating nearly as much as in the past...

The change was made for several reasons: Staff determined that voting was being misused by others to boost themselves in points and levels through voting. Also, millions of questions remained in stasis due to not enough people voting. This took questions out of the active list. Finally, keeping 3 states of questions resulted in intricate coding to manage the status of each question, which caused the site to run more slowly.
By eliminating voting, they were able to stop the cheaters, simplify the flow of questions, and have a single stream of them, all able to be answered. Cleaner and simpler, and more clicking going on, which means more revenue from ads. For Yahoo - it is a win/win situation, if not for the users.
However, remember that this is NOT supposed to be a "discussion" site and we are supposed to only ask questions seeking real knowledge or information, not argue sides of things. If a person is open-minded enough, they will choose the answer that gives the best information, not the one that simply 'agrees' with them. I've done it with my questions, and I've been chosen as best when I've disagreed with someone as well.

Yahzmin, you do not get the real sense of it as I see. Real knowledge does never consists in asking a question and just get your own ignorance confirmed. If you ask information in a field of technology, mechanics, photo or electronics, this might work, but this does not works when it concerns beliefs, and the subjects in culture, politics, faith, philosophy, are here inappropriate since here, most just seek to get there own faith, beliefs, stupidity, confirmed and those subjects have to be subjects of discussion.
Someone can ask if Darwins evolution is true, and he gets 20 answers with different points of view, he will among that chose as best what confirms his own point of view. Is that an improvement in Knowledge.
No subject is more complex than the decoding of the sacred text, where people listen to salesman of religions and there card house of lies to enslave them and gain money, building on that a false belief, a faith. Now, do you think that anyone would ever select an answer based on truth as best, or will he just select as best the one that confirms his own faith and integer view of the subject. That is mainly why we kill each other and destroy the world for GOD and money only, and none of those who have that kind of faith in their brain, locked as a dogma in an unbreakable safe, will ever admit that they are wrong. It is those who just want to find out if others think the same way, and here, a shared opinion confirmed by voters, even a classification could make them think about it.
If 10% of people on this planet change there mind and get out of the mind control of media and religions, the world could change in a positive way. Every evolution becomes by a revolution. Now, your evolution goes not in revolution but simply in a total state of block off.
On the end, your vision of what the goal of this platform is, and the vision of it's users, differs for light years, and at no moment Yahoo has ever taken in account the claims of it's users. None of us, or just a few, accepted this purple junk, despite that you have destroyed it by continuing on YOUR way, not on ours.
We have struggled to find ways, in other countries to keep going in green, but you turned it purple everywhere, despite people protesting. Is this that way to do things. I broke down for a bit of time with it, then came back, but also my patience is at the end, and the only button missing on this platform now is the one that says, "close my account".
Sorry, but when we come to that conclusion, something must be wrong, and you just ignore it. So keep doing your way, I just doubt that it will be fruitful.
I want also to unhide the 3 asterisks in my last update, it says what it is simply s.h.i.t., and that is what this platform has become, something you destroyed with all the energy you could find, against the will of it's users. Hope you will realize that some day.
Thanks for the feedback, and I know truth hurts, but unfortunately for most, I am a man of truth, something one can find quiet seldom anymore in this world built on lies.
