Liberals, Freedom from religion is interfering in my hometown, are you happy.?
A local high school has allowed student athletes to wear shirt with bible verses for decades, now the group Freedom from religion has sent a letter demanding they stop. What is so wrong with wearing those shirts if the kids are doing it because they want to.
The shirts are not bought by the school, or the state, but by the parents of the kids, isn't this interfering with freedom of expression.
The lame excuse the school is using to force them to stop is it's distracting at school

It is sad when a group that says they are doing things to keep people from forcing religion on others is actually forcing the absence of religion on everyone. No one is telling the atheists to wear the shirts so they should just mind their own business.
Atheists are the most intolerant people I have seen.

Wearing t-shirts with slogans printed on them is controversial in many schools. I understand you think these particular slogans are innocuous, but try to look at it from the view point of school administrators. If one slogan on a t-shirt is OK, then kids will test the limits, and then there could be trouble. Better to say no sloganeering on clothing. Schools are allowed to limit freedom of speech. Children have some rights, but they are not covered by the Bill of Rights the same way adults are. I never heard that wearing religious slogans on a t-shirt constituted a religious ceremony. Is that in the Bible somewhere? I must have missed it. It actually sounds sacriligous, but to each her own.
Maybe you should run for the local school board. Then you can become more directly involved in setting school policies instead of asking questions on YA for solutions to your issue.

Political correctness is socially incorrect. It is destroying the basic common sense of society, and individuality.
Can't think and do as you choose to as an individual, you have to think and do as the political social order directs you to.

It's not necessarily atheists, and they certainly don't act like liberals in the classic sense. They are a small number of professional-victim control freaks who are anti-Christian cranks trying to destroy something that is bigger than they are. Let's see them challenge Muslims in public schools. They wouldn't dare, because Muslims don't play.

I am tolerant about most things. I am extremely intolerant of those tolerant individuals that demand everyone be just as tolerant as them. Tolerant progressives fit that description quite well.

Sorry, you can't use public institutions to promote your religion. It's unlawful and unconstitutional.

I am gay. Would you let them walk around with the verse from Leviticus that says to kill gays?

Like I always say, they can't just be atheists. They have to try to disrupt others lives. Is it OK to just flush an atheist when he dies?
