A two-up, two- down terrace in a grotty dogsh*t ridden street in London costs half a million quid. I am selling three acres, two swimming pools, cottage and gîte in the south of France for just over four hundred thou. Don't give me the work thing. For that you could get a villa in Italy and your rent paid for half your life. It's an island thing.

it isn't even true, it took me no time to find a 3 bed house for sale in London for £320,000.  You can find 2 beds for £500,000 and more I'm sure, but you do specify 'grotty'.

BTW the word in your property ad making it less attractive is 'France '

The whole world is man sure what are we working for i sound like a hippy when I say this but do we need all this technology we are working our boloxs off to make a virtual world great when our own is in a state nobody goes out in the real world I done a challenge to prove this I lived in the woods for two weeks and bought food in the shops in town all there are are the people who beat up people for no reason hanging around none of my friends were to be seen they are always working or in the comfort of their home we have seperated ourselves from the earth why can't be build a sfe home in the wild and take risks life would be so much more fun and not knowing whats out there would be an exciting adventure everyday

you know i agree that London is way expensive and that what you can get for your money elsewhere is unreal, i live in the north of England and house prices are way much cheaper, to be honest it must be because London is the capital of England and also were all the politics is done, almost like a island of its own so they can do what they want i suppose, even the rents are mad, for a little bedroom, what i would call a bedsit, here in the north i can rent a 4 bedroom house for the price of a bedsit in London, i think id rather commute then stay in London in a grotty house!! any day......

We're in the middle of a bubble which no one wants to burst, and the government's help to buy plan isn't helping. Houses are seen by some as not something to live in, but as a vehicle for speculation.
