Whatsapp takeover Facebook?

Is the acquisition of Whatsapp a horizontal, vertical or conglomerate merger????

Horizontal = where 2 firms in same industry at the same stage of production merge

Vertical= where 2 firms in same industry at different stage of production merge

Conglomerate= where 2 firms in different industry merge

    Id go for.. conglomerate.

    One is a phone app.. The other is a webpage.

    They both do use messaging but in a completely different way.

    And yes.. FB brought Whatsapp.

    Its Facebook who bought WhatsApp for $19 bn dollar not WhatsApp acquired Facebook. Yes it should conglomerate.
