Can someone explain plainly?

Here's the simple message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus said the wages of sin is death (of the soul). We are doomed to die for our sins. Jesus came to give us eternal life and paid our sin debt by laying down His life for us so that we wouldn't have to die. We are no longer bound by our sin debt because God has given us mercy by His grace. Because we believe that Jesus IS the Son of God and died to pay for our sins and have repented of them, we are forgiven by God's grace and now have eternal life. THAT is the entire purpose of the Bible and the Gospel according to Jesus Christ and God the Father. It isn't about rules, or worship, or dogma, or anything else. It is God's free gift, if we will accept it. A gift is freely given but the person to whom the gift is for, must receive it for it to have been given.

John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him (Jesus) shall not perish but have eternal live (in heaven)." John 14:6 says, "Jesus said, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me,'" Just lead a life of love towards other people and do everything to glorify God. Go to church, read the Bible, and talk to a WELS pastor if you have questions and talk to other Christians, they'll help you.

The message of salvation is to all of Gods children, For the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ forgave all sin past,present and future. And to assure that salvation is through Baptism and being as Christ like as one can be as part of the elect after baptism. For you will find Jesus Christ with his father at creation in Proverbs 8

The Gospel message is about 2 things, God/Jesus and doing good. It can be summed up by saying, Good Thoughts, Good Words and Good Deeds. Jesus/God helps us to achieve this.
