He will in future be called by his friends and relative by his new name.

I am surprised that no one believes in numerology amongst the other answers. I have been studying it for years and have come to seriously believe that what numerologists say is true. It is more accurate that astrology - especially in terms match-making.

As for name changing... I am a living and breathing example. I decided to change my middle name, and, even though it is not official or in the documents, I feel different. I have changed significantly because I changed my middle name in accordance to the number which I wanted to become: an 8. This is to be powerful and successful, and, so far I am really not disappointed as whatever I have done in college has gone very well.

If you want to change a name number, try adding a middle name, but keep testing different combinations until you get the right number, and convince yourself about what you have done - the passport is just a piece of paper.

I hope that what I could share, has helped, but unfortunately I do not know about the different types such as kabbalah, etc. so I can't help you there, sorry.

Numerology states that if you change but one letter of your name, you can change your luck. If you believe that kind of stuff - you should consult with a numerologist and he will advise you which letter to add/omit/replace. Or to change your name altogether.

I, personally, believe that one makes his own luck in life.

If you change it before high school, it will have no impact on your college application process, as you will apply for colleges under your new legal name and your high school transcripts will be under your new legal name.
