Prom Dress Confusion?!?

Ok I did a study on height so I have a lot of tips on what suits a shorter figure. I'll go through all 7 dresses:

1. High-low style could be good for making your legs look long, but it does have a lot of folds of material for a small frame and might swamp you. The strapless style also makes your shoulders look wide and your body short.

2. Simple long style that would suit your figure. Neckline is better than 1, especially with the folds coming down the front, but still not great.

3. Nice simple style again- the long folds as the material hangs create a vertical element to your figure. But the neckline is not good, like 1.

4. Similar to 3. The spaghetti straps slightly help the awkward neckline.

5. Good style with the long folds again. You would need a curvy figure to pull off the top with the sparkly accent, but it does break up and improve the neckline.

6. Short dresses are not actually that great for short girls because they break the vertical line of your figure. The style of this also widens the shoulders again.

7. My favourite, because the pattern creates a v-shape coming down from the shoulders, which elongates your body and narrows your shoulders. It also has the long folds of fabric for the illusion of height and the mesh style is totally on-trend right now!

It has the long vertical folds and high waistline that will suit you, and the vee neck lengthens your figure as well.

If you don't have such a curvy figure this style could work for you as well.

Whatever you pick, matching the colour to suit your skin tone is important. You don't want a clashing colour. Also, by picking a long dress you're allowing yourself to wear big platform heels underneath without it being really obvious how much height they are giving you. If you're not used to wearing heels and want to wear them for your prom then use the next six months to get regular practice, either at home or out with friends etc. Pick a pair for comfort as well as style. Don't leave breaking them in til last minute or you will feel really uncomfortable and it could ruin your night.

I would recommend for you to pick dress number one. Its long yet short in the front so it will make your legs look a lot longer. The style of the dress will give the illusion of having long thin legs. The style of the dress is also fun yet sophisticated. You should also wear the dress with a pair of platform heels. I noticed that the dress came in many different colors so you should chose a color that will make your skin tone pop. Yellows, purples and reds look great on tanned skin. The first is horrible, the second is gorgeous, the third looks like a wedding dress as does the fourth, the fifth is nice and understated, the sixth is nice but you need to assess whether it will compliment your height or not and the seventh is my absolute favourite. I wish I had the figure to wear something like that!! It's my prom as well in June and am looking now also.

My favorites are 2, 5, and 7, but you will probably need to get them hemmed because you are so short. I would go with 2 or 5 because 7 would probably be too difficult to get hemmed.

I LOVE 4,5,6,AND 7! You can always get them tailored to be shorter, or wear heels to give you some more inches :)
