Do i need to learn C and C++ before learning java?

yes first language c is the basic of all

then go to c++

then you can go to java...if you direct go to java then you may miss the base and you may face difficulties..:)

I think it is not mandatory, because you can also learn JAVA without knowing C & C++ just like you are learning C & C++ without having programming knowledge. But learning C & C++ will makes learning JAVA very easy. I you have much knowledge in C & C++ it is very very easy to learning Java and you can learning very quickly also, because the basic concepts of Java, C & C++ all are same with slight modifications....
