how to improve my actin skills at home?
okay guys now i don't have allot of money to practice acting in acting schools and i found my actin skills in high school so all i did acting was in high school i did very good the teacher advised me to keep on acting when i finish school because i am naturally skilled i have the talent to be an actor all teachers helped me. they all love my acting the only problem i had i was a lazy student i didn't do all my essays at school i use to fail at them of my poor English like you need to know allot of English to pass since English is my second language here. i have been only 6 years in Australia.
anyway i have no idea what to do now i even feel like i lost my confidence on stage. i want to be a movie actor more than theater actor anyway my dream is to go to Hollywood. but i don't know where i start from. if i go to drama school i don't have enough money and i am afraid to lose my skills and already depressed i am now looking for a job so i get my dream to be reality. what should i do at home to keep my acting skills up? while i work as a hairdresser and get enough money to study drama.
b the way i finished high school 2 years ago so when i was studying drama i only was 1 year in Australia when i first started drama i also passed but not the first in class where i should have been my teacher said you can be first if you just do your work.

First, you must understand that practising at home is useless - all you're doing is teaching yourself bad habits. Save up and get into a real acting school - it's essential.
Second, you have to go back to school somehow and improve your English - actors have to be excellent at English. And being lazy makes me think you would not be a good actor - it takes endless hard work, dedication, determination, resilience and huge talent to become an actor - the days at work on set or in a theatre can be 15 hours a day, 7 days a week, and in between acting jobs you'd still have to work an ordinary job as well, like most actors, just to afford to live.
But none of that will happen until you can get into a good acting school and spend a few years learning about it. Ordinary high school means nothing - no-one really cares about what drama anyone did at school.

30% of my acting skills were acquired from acting at home. 30% was from my lessons and 40% in experience
Lessons are important. They guide you in the right direction, but practicing at home is where you get better.
Check out a lot of acting books from the library (look up reviews before you check out, some are complete bullshit), look up monologues online (you will find thousands), RESEARCH ALL ACTING SOURCCES ONLINE (I learned so much online, sometimes better than my lessons) practice, get your friends to practice with you, get people to critique you, work based on critiques, and most importantly, AUDITION FOR COMMUNITY THEATER. It will help so much. Not only will you make the best of friends, you will meet people who are just like you and this is where you will meet people who are good in this criteria. This is where you meet acting friends that will make you a better actor by practicing..dadada..
btw- extra work won't get you discovered, so don't even go down that path
This is purely recreational information I'm telling you now. If you want to become an actor seriously- nah, you have to find a coach.
