I'd recommend paying slightly more for the D5100 with the 18-105mm lens it's an absolute steal.

You don't buy a camera for the "gadgets" it contains. You buy a specific body that will suit your needs.

A good camera will still serve you for many years after it's been replaced or discontinued.

Only you can determine what features and capabilities the D3200 offers that are important to you. Some features may be too advanced for you to use, some may not be of interest to you, and so on. It's like buying a car, there are so many variations that you have to determine what is important and what is not.

The best thing you can do is to read the reviews and find out what you like and dislike. One caveat though - some reviews are biased, and some reviews are not very good. Snapsort for instance - in my view - is poor as they have many mistakes. I read once that they gain their info by web-crawler robots, so who knows what data is correct or not? However, they get their info, I have not found it to be totally accurate.
