Why are some people still mentally messed up even 5 years after being raped?

because its a disgusting terrible thing to happen to someone! Someone once tried to do it to me (I was acutally saved by 5 girls on their way to church...weird) this happened about 10 years ago and I still have issues about it. Despite what "therapy" can do for you she still needs support from family and friends around her, sadly this is something that will always stay with her no matter what but trying to lead a normal life is the only thing that can truly help. One thing that may help is actualy hypnotherapy, it doesnt work for everyone but its a great way to relax your mind. I used this along with yoga to actualy help me with serious depression & anxiety after losing my baby last year. I didnt leave the house for 6 months and was honestly considering ending my life (seriously..not joking) but after finding someone to truly listen and an activity that I enjoyed to keep my mind busy could not have helped more.
