Bank put someones money in my account and i spent it not knowing it was not mine now what?
The most i ever have in my checking account is around $10. I called my bank account (which is just a recording) to check my amount and I had over $100 bucks! It's almost christmas so I thought it must have been a gift from my mom because she is linked to my account. So i ended up spending some of it at a gas station with my debit card. I found out after that my mom did not do it and that it must be an bank error.
So now what? Is it going to count as a bounced check? Because I don't think i should be penalized because it was there mistake and I didn't know it was not my money at the time that I spent some of it.
Or is there a chance that they wont catch the mistake?

there is a good chance they wont realise through all the stuff going in and out but if they do see what happened its thier fault not yours and you wont have to pay it back

Yes, they will catch the mistake and remove the money. You will have a negative balance, probably get hit with overdraft fees also.
You are suppose to keep a separate record of your bank account transactions and not rely on the bank to tell you the current balance. The bank has no way of knowing what checks you wrote or debit card transactions that have not made it to the bank.

Little to no chance that they will not find this mistake, perhaps you should contact the bank now that you know it might have been a mistake.

Now, you wait for them to find it and you make arrangements to pay it back. You owe the money. It was never yours.
