Teens: What is your opinion on iPhones?

I'm thinking of getting one, I think I would like it seeing as I have a MacBook, so it wouldn't be that hard to figure out… It would be my first iPhone, so far everybody I've talked to really likes theirs. My friend had the same exact phone as me (HTC Rhyme) and she really likes hers which means that the switch over must not've been to difficult to switch over. I mean it might be different for me but I've had iTouches and my boyfriend's sister said it's pretty much just an iTouch with the option of a phone and a camera on it.

I think I'd be getting the 5s, before someone says something about being spoiled or whatever (always comes up) I didn't ask for it, my mom suggested I get one haha she also wants one. Both of our contracts are up so she thought it would be nice to get new phones and I wanna get one that I'll have for the same amount of time as my last one.

Plus, when I go skiing, I always take my iTouch with me so I can listen to music, however, my iTouch is on the way out and that way I wouldn't have to take two things with me.

These are just some questions I have about iPhones, if you have one...

1. How many GB (gigabytes) of memory do you have? Does it hold enough apps or music for you?

2. What version do you have?

3. What service provider do you use?

4. Do you have any major problems with it? (glitches, randomly shutting down, text lagging when you type, apps shutting down)

5. Do you like the camera on it or does it seem like every other phone?

Update:

Yea haha I'm 18… I didn't want one for a long time and I'm not absolutely sure if I want one or not, I still have to look at the other phones before I make a choice.

I love my iPhone haha. My dad finally cracked down and got me a phone just because I'm getting older and I love to do after school sports, clubs, ect...

    1. How many GB (gigabytes) of memory do you have? Does it hold enough apps or music for you?

I have a 32 GB. It's literally too much space if anything.

    2. What version do you have?

    5s. It's a great phone.

    3. What service provider do you use?

Verizon is the only service provider that works around my area haha.

    4. Do you have any major problems with it? (glitches, randomly shutting down, text lagging when you type, apps shutting down)

Nope. At first iOS 7 was a bit cruddy but they patched it up with another update. So no worries! If an app crashes it's normally the person who made the apps fault anyways. Oh and if your fingers are kinda oily the finger print scanner doesn't work all that well. Which isn't the end of the world.

    5. Do you like the camera on it or does it seem like every other phone?

Personally I think the camera could be a little bit better. That's the only thing I really don't like about my phone. It takes good pictures but when you zoom everything gets really grainy.

Overview: Would buy it again thats now much I like it.

It's okay. BUT, I loved it when it when I still had iOS6 software. iOS7 gets on my nerves sometimes and I'm not a fan of the look. I shouldn't have updated the software.

    1. I have a 8 GB one but I only have 1 GB left. A lot of people have the 16 GB one which is probably best because at some point I had to clear out some of the songs I didn't really listen to because of space and I had over 700 songs; now I only have maybe 450. Let's just say it took a while to do. But if you think it's enough space for you then stick with the 8 GB.

    2. I have the iPhone 4.

    3. AT&T. I live in the US by the way.

    4. It has randomly shut down a couple times before. I don't have any text lagging and my apps don't shut down a lot. But when I listen to music sometimes it glitches.

    5. Well before I had an iPhone I had one of the more basic phones. I could go on the internet but you HAD to use your data. Like it didn't have wifi. To read messages you had to click on each one individually; like they weren't set up as conversation where you clicked on the person's name and it showed all the text messages between you and the person. Also the camera was really crappy. So I can't compare this phone's cameras to others, but I have no complaints about it.

Honestly if my phone still had the iOS 6 software I would have little complaints. Ever since I downloaded iOS 7 I haven't been as happy with my phone. It doesn't even seem much like an iPhone anymore in my opinion. The things I really like about the iPhone is the apps and how easy it is to find cases for it, and the very large variety of cases there are for iPhones. I just got it last September and I already have 6 cases, 2 more coming in the mail (ranging from $2 to $50). It sounds really stupid, I know. But it's 10x better than the past, basic phones I had before.

I personally think that getting an iPhone is unnecessary and spoiled if you're under 16. I know so many kids who got them at TWELVE, and quite frankly that's absurd. After having had the same phone for 4 years, and at the age of almost 18, I got my first iPhone (a 5C, on the cheapest contract with the smallest memory) just 3 weeks ago.

    Anyways.

    1. How many GB (gigabytes) of memory do you have? Does it hold enough apps or music for you?

It has 8GB, and I store most of my music and apps on my old iPod touch, so yeah, it's enough.

    2. What version do you have?

    5C

    3. What service provider do you use?

O2 (it's a UK provider seeing as I live here, you're Canadian so I'm assuming you have Rogers?)

    4. Do you have any major problems with it? (glitches, randomly shutting down, text lagging when you type, apps shutting down)

    Not so far.

    5. Do you like the camera on it or does it seem like every other phone?

It's a good camera during the day but in the evening it's pretty useless. The flash... well. Let me not comment....

    1. 16GB. I don't really have any music on it, but I have a fair amount of apps and I've never had much of an issue with memory.

    2. 3GS

    3. Telenor, but I live in Norway so that's probably not relevant

    4. A lot, yeah. Granted, it is an older phone and I've had it for approximately three years. But I've never had this many issues with any of the other phones I've owned. Just to list a few of the problems for you: the mute function has stopped working completely (meaning I have to turn it off if I want to silence it), the volume buttons on the side stop working every now and then, it turns itself off randomly and won't turn back on for a long time, incredible lag, I don't have any reception when I should be getting excellent reception, calls will be randomly disconnected as often as five times during a conversation, battery only lasts a couple hours even when I'm not using it, etc.

    5. The camera is terrible. But again, it's an older phone.

I mean, Apple make decent phones and unless you're really picky about your techs you'll probably be more than happy with it. But I've had mine for a long time and I'm getting really bored with it, as well as frustrated with the multiple issues I've had with it. It's come to the point where I can't even make calls reliably and my parents never know if they'll be able to reach me or not, and so my dad has said he'll buy me a new one for Christmas. It isn't going to be another iPhone.

I have the Iphone 5s and I'm only 14 so I think you're a far cry from overly spoiled.

    1. How many GB (gigabytes) of memory do you have? Does it hold enough apps or music for you?: I have the 32gb space grey it has plenty of space. I have about 1500, 30-40 apps, tons of music and it only takes up 6gb.

    2. What version do you have?: 5s space grey

    3. What service provider do you use?: AT&T the best provider in my area

    4. Do you have any major problems with it (glitches, randomly shutting down, text lagging when you type, apps shutting down): The only thing I can think of is when the button gets super dirty you have to wipe it down before it excepts your finger print but it doesn't happen very often

    5. Do you like the camera on it or does it seem like every other phone?: I like this camera a lot! It takes multiply pictures and combines them together to create the best one. I also really like the slow motion camera, it's one of my favorite features

I don't have an iPhone but I have an iPod Touch and an iPad Air, so...

(I have an Android phone instead.)

Apple is just as good as Android I guess. The store setup is way better and the music feature is brilliant. But I love how on Android you can put widgets and crap all over your screen.

I'm not allowed an iPhone unless I save up and buy it myself as I'm only thirteen. And to the person who said that twelve year olds have them, well, I'm the oldest out of all my friends (they're all twelve) and I'm the only own without an iPhone. Plus, one of my friend's sisters is nine and she has one. It's ridiculous how much parents spoil their kids. Couldn't you just get a nine year old a simple Nokia phone?

And if you're going to say I'm spoilt for having an iPod Touch and an iPad Air, save it. I got my iPod Touch ages ago for Christmas and my Birthday and I have to have an iPad for high school. In year 10 I will need a MacBook.

So I think you should get an iPhone because if it's part of the package- why not? It sounds like a brilliant idea.

Oh and I have a 16GB iPad and it holds enough music and stuff for me but I have 3,000 photos and it's getting full. If you're getting an iPhone, I suggest you go for 32GB as you'll need to store contacts and stuff as well as music and apps.

There aren't many problems with my iPad or my iPod except occasionally they freeze and shut down while I'm on Safari and viewing pictures. And sometimes apps stuff up on me (going back to the home screen or turning off) but that's about it.

And I don't like iOS 7 though, it's really tacky and looks super cheap. I preferred iOS 6 and iOS 7 is kinda hard to use on the iPhone (my parents both have iPhones).

    Enjoy your new iPhone.

Quelle(n): Sorry, you probably don't want to read the message of a thirteen year old girl lol.

    Just get an android..

iOS 7 sucks a lot. It looks so stupid and unoriginal. Im planning on getting a samsung galaxy whatever version next year. I love my iPhone mainly for the camera because it's nice to have an okay camera with me at all times.

1.) 16 and not enough gigs but the 32 was too much

    2.)4s

    3.) bell

4.) lock button doesn't work too well even though I take good care of my electronics. Also Apple accessories such as charger cords and head phones break super easily!

5.) Cameramis okay, I used it when my actual camera died on Europe so it took decent photos of things,

I love my IPhone, it has 5.0 GB.

No the apps don't shut down and neither does my phone. I have an IPhone 4 but you should get the 5s i've heard it's better.

The camera looks good too. You should get one I've had mine for almost 3 years it's really good.
