I want a new job but is this a good idea?

Right now im making 9.00/hour with 30 hours a week 60 hours per pay check so i get around 450 a week after taxes. I was wondering if I would be making more money or will it be worth it to work as a pizza driver for less than 6 months to pay off student loans. I see a lot of delivery jobs out there saying you can make 15-20$ an hour with tips but is that really true?

It’s rare but true for some areas, but for others you are lucky to receive one dollar for a delivery. All fast food companies always advertise how much you can make with tips and to tell you the truth, most of them are bullshits because they need drivers.

If the place you are interested in is in an area where peeps are alive and walking about always, such as areas near casinos or areas near many bars and or an area that is considered a tourist attraction, you can make real good money. Other than that, stick to your regular job, unless of course you can handle and work around two jobs.

Could you do both? I worked as a delivery driver for 2 pizza spots and for a Chinese restaurant. The work is cool because you get to go in your car, chill out, and drop off a pizza. The work isn't too hard. The only catch is the pay isn't consistent. You could have a really bad day, only drop off 4 pizzas and make $5 during your whole shift. Plus if there's a lot of drivers on duty, that'll drop the pay also. Plus some companies don't like having drivers go on multiple deliveries so that lowers your take home. If you're not delivering pizzas, you're washing dishes, making chicken wings, folding boxes, or taking orders. And you have to close up and do all the mopping and all that good stuff.

If you're not happy at your current job, then I say take the jump. Fist option should be to work both jobs and just hustle. Maybe take less hours at your current. O yeah, and you have to keep in mind the area that you'd be working. If its close to the ghetto, college town, nice part of the town, etc... You have to factor that into your decision.
